Wolves Transfer Reliability Guide

The recently concluded 2020-2021 Premier League season saw a dip in performance from Wolves as they finished in 13th place.

More so, the club has seen the departure of the Portuguese coach who guided them to promotion a couple of seasons ago, as Nuno Espírito Santo joined Tottenham Hotspur for a fresh challenge.

As they embark on a new journey in this campaign, I thought I’d highlight the club’s reliable media outlets for transfer news.

With the transfer window open, fans are desperate to know which players will be brought in to try and take the club to greater heights.

So, it’s good to have an accurate list of journalists and news outlets to follow as it makes things much easier when it comes to keeping up with the changing nature of the transfer market.

Here’s how things look for Wolves transfer reliability…

Summary

Ever since the Fosun group took over ownership of Wolves, information about the club rarely leaks out.

The club has an embargo system where only a few key journalists are informed of transfer targets or who the club is in negotiations with.

In exchange for receiving such information before deals go public, these journalists agree to not disclose or discuss any transfer links.

Tim Spiers is now widely regarded as the best source of transfer information for Wolves, which is reflected in his bump up from tier 2 to tier 1.

He was formerly the main Wolves correspondent for the Express & Star local newspaper but he’s been snapped up by The Atheltic now.

Coming in to take his place for the Express & Star is Joe Edwards who slots straight into tier 2. He’s not as quick to release Wolves announcements as Tim Spiers but he’s still a solid reporter.

Tim Nash who is now a freelancer also remains in tier 2 but his reporting is “hit and miss” as there are occasions where he comes out with unlikely stories that end up being true and in some instances he can be well off the mark.
